Optical mold bases manufactured to your design

Metrixnano manufactures custom optical mold bases, precision plates and related tooling components for optical and precision injection-molding projects. Our supply scope is agreed against your assembly and component drawings, including the required material, datums, cavity layout and inspection documentation.

Specify whether your request covers a mold base, individual plates, inserts, cores or an assembled tooling scope. This helps align the quotation with the items you need.

Engineering requirements to confirm

Requirement Project information
Material and treatment Steel or other specified material grade, heat-treatment condition, hardness and any coating requirements.
Base and plate geometry Overall dimensions, plate stack, datum surfaces, mounting interfaces and assembly references.
Cavity layout Cavity count, pitch, bore geometry, insert interfaces and positional requirements.
Precision Machining precision can reach 0.5 μm on suitable features. Flatness, roundness, cylindricity and positional tolerances must be specified and confirmed individually.
Surface condition Roughness parameter, measurement area, surface treatment, cleanliness and edge requirements.
Quantity and lead time Typical lead time is approximately one week, adjusted for base size, complexity, material availability, quantity and inspection scope. The quotation confirms the delivery schedule.

Inspection for functional interfaces

Identify which interfaces locate the optical inserts and which datums control assembly. Agree the critical dimensions, geometric tolerances and inspection method before manufacture. Request the measurement report format required by your incoming-inspection team.

A precision capability is not a blanket guarantee for every dimension in a mold assembly. Component tolerances and the assembled requirements need to be reviewed together.

Quotation checklist

  • Assembly drawing, component drawings and matching 3D files.
  • Material grade, heat treatment, hardness and coating specifications.
  • Cavity configuration, critical datums and acceptance tolerances.
  • Requested supply scope, quantity, inspection documentation and target date.

Frequently asked questions

Do you quote a complete mold or only a mold base?

Please identify the required scope. Mold bases, plates, inserts and cores are quoted against the supplied drawings; any complete-tooling scope must be separately reviewed and confirmed.

Can I request a custom cavity layout?

Send the cavity layout, insert interfaces and relevant tolerances for engineering review.

Can we sign an NDA before sharing the assembly?

Yes. Request an NDA before sending confidential files.
